Don't you just love coincidences.
I started thinking about coincidences this week after an appointment with a business advisor from WENTA. What are the chances of getting a business advisor who is actually actively interested in your field? Well, not only had John heard about Cortijo Romero and Skyros, the places I name in my business plan, he had actually been on holiday to Skyros! And was very knowledegeable about personal and spiritual development. I really couldn't have picked a better suited advisor if I had tried.
He did say that it does always seem to work out that way, with advisors just automatically being allocated the right clients! Oh, what it is to be in the flow.
(By the way if you want to know about WENTA, more about them tomorrow.)
That of course was what got me started on the coincidences and I have to say my holiday in Cuba was just full of coincidences. I felt truly in the flow, meeting the right people at the right time. I swopped treatments with all 3 of the healthcare professionals in the hotel! The doctor was a bio energy practitioner, how cool is that! The physio had a doctorate in Chinese Medicine! And I had some wonderful discussions with Julia, the nurse, who was very interested in energy work, personal development and all things spiritual.
I talked about Energy work and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with the market stall holder, the lovely girl distributing the beach towels, a sculptor, a lovely Canadian couple, Mari a really interesting lady who has achieved so much in her life and who is married to a trapper (I didn't realise they still existed) and lives in a very remote part of Canada, to name but a few!
But the most amazing coincidence had to be...
There was an old gentleman I kept seeing in Cuba, he was on the same flight and then in the same hotel. (Only 12 of us from the entire flight ended up in Club Amigos). Every time time I saw him, I thought hmm, he looks familiar, who is it he reminds me of?
Because the complex was so vast, 3 huge hotels with 2 beaches and about 5 swimmings pools, I didn't would just catch glimpses of him from time to time. So, it was only when we were finally collecting our suitcases at Gatwick Airport that I siddled up to him and engaged him in conversation.
I said 'you look familiar'
he said 'where do you live'
'in Leighton Buzzard'
Oh, I used to live in Leighton Buzzard, but now I live in Hemel'
'That's funny' I said 'I used to live in Hemel'
'Whereabouts' he asked
'Hobbs Hill Road' I said
'No 79' he said
'No 81!' I said
He was in fact my next door neighbour. We had lived next door to each other for about 5 years! He used to praise me on my leylandii hedge trimming skills.
What can I say; my only excuse is that I am really not a visual person. In NLP terms I experience the world kinesthetically, through sensations and emotions. The police would get extremely exasperated with me, if I ever had to act as a witness!
But back to the coincidence, after mulling on the significance for several days, it occurred to me that the significance was in that it had happened at all. It was just a reminder to me that everything is connected and happens for a reason.
